Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged

Matt. 7:1 "Do not judge, or you too will be judged."

For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, if we judge with an evil heart or dark intent, His judgment of us will reflect it; if we judge nobly and honestly, His judgment of us will reflect that, too. American culture seems to have turned into a fantastic state of judgment. Our self consciousness reflects this more than anything. The intent on which we judge the world and the beings within it will reflect itself. When we look at a person who has blemished skin and tacky dress, and we say 'look at her, she is ugly and has no taste', we have judged her based on our own ideals. This is the reflection, this shows us that our ideals and hers are different but we view ours as superior. If we are to accept ourselves for our differences then we must accept others for theirs.

Keep this idea in mind for a day or so. Go about your day and have normal conversations and see how and when this shows up. Judgement is constant, it can be positive or negative.
